Jonathan Kalman
Managing Partner
Jonathan Kalman is Managing Partner of
Jaguar Capital Partners, a private equity investment firm. He
is former Chairman and CEO of Jaguar Acquisition, a public company
(NASDAQ: JGACU.OB) that merged in April 2008 with China Cablecom,
Ltd. (CCCH.BB) where he serves as a member of the board of directors.
He is Chairman of Jaguar Acquisition Corporation II and Jaguar
Acquisition Corporation III, companies formed to effect a merger,
capital stock exchange or asset acquisition with operating businesses
in China. He is also Chairman of Katalyst Securities LLC, an investment
banking firm specializing in the technology, media and telecommunications
sectors.
A business visionary, Mr. Kalman is known for his broad expertise
in disruptive technologies across a variety of industries including
payments, financial services, media and communications. In addition
to having an in-depth, hands-on operational background, Mr. Kalman
possesses extensive experience in the capital markets, including
public offerings, mergers, acquisitions, spinoffs and divestitures.
Previously, Mr. Kalman was General Partner of Katalyst Venture
Partners, and General Partner of Internet Katalyst Investment
Partners, early stage venture funds. He was also an investor in
Breakaway Solutions, and assisted the company through its explosive
growth from 20 employees to more than 1,000 and an IPO led by
Morgan Stanley, Deutsche Bank and Lehman Brothers.
Prior to forming Katalyst, Mr. Kalman was Managing Director of
Naviant Technology Solutions, acquired by Equifax.
Mr. Kalman began his career at IBM, where he served in sales,
technology and management positions. At IBM, Mr. Kalman worked
with clients in the payments industry and led an advanced semiconductor
diagnostics and technology team.
Currently, Mr. Kalman is a member of the Board of Directors of
PE Systems LLC, a specialty consulting and software firm focused
on reducing merchant’s cost of accepting credit and debit
cards; and an advisor to Nstein Technologies, a software and solutions
company specializing in analyzing vast amounts of unstructured
data in any language.
Additionally, he is a member of the Young President’s Organization
(YPO) and an officer in the Philadelphia Chapter of YPO. He has
broad national and international experience, having advised companies
in the U.S., Europe, Latin America, India, China, Israel and Canada.
Mr. Kalman holds an MBA from Northwestern University’s J.L.
Kellogg School of Management and a BS in Applied Physics from
Cornell
University.
